Clora Belle Rich

Funeral services for Clora Belle (Ma) Rich, age 87, of Waynesboro, TN, will be at 1 pm, Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the WCHS gymnasium in Waynesboro, TN with Marvin Champion, James Kayler, and David Kingsley officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Michael Statom, Mark Statom, Chip Phillips, Richie Bevis, Brandon Skelton, Franklin Cole, Tim Skelton, and Greg Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be David Sisk, Ryan Keaton, Cody Curry, Steve Robertson, Stoney Lynn, Joe Hall, and Lonnie Morgan. Visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2007 from 1 pm to 9 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Her body will be placed in the WCHS gymnasium at 9 am, Saturday, December 29, 2007. She died at her home Wednesday, December 26, 2007.
Mrs. Rich was born and grew up on Bear Creek in the Lutts, TN community. After marriage, she moved to the Rose community in Cypress Inn, TN where she lived until moving to Waynesboro in 1960. She taught school at Scotts Chapel in Cypress Inn and she and her husband, Gaynes, owned a country store. She was a daughter of the late Elihue and Bertha Johnson Berry, the wife of the late Gaynes T. Rich, the mother of the late Gaynes (Shorty) Rich, and a sister of the late Ben and J. W. Berry and Mabel Rich.
Mrs. Rich had worked at Angelica Corporation, Rich’s Antiques, and was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, TN, the Eastern Star in Collinwood, TN, and was the #1 fan of the Waynesboro Wildcats and the Collinwood Trojans sporting events.
Clora Belle Rich known to the entire community as “Ma Rich†was loved by everyone. She attended every sporting event that involved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cheering them on. Ma Rich will be missed by everyone.
