Clay Mullins



Was born in Decoy, Kentucky on March 29, 1916 the son of the late William (Bill) and Orleana Stacy Mullins.



On November 10, 1945 he was united in marriage to the former Virgie Howard, who survives.



Mr. Mullins was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in World War II, during which time he was a member of the 741st Tank Battalion. Mr. Mullins was a retired Freewill Baptist Minister and had worked with Cindy’s Janitorial Service for 18 years. He had also worked for the Studebaker Auto Plant in South Bend, Indiana as a welder and as a Security Guard at the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama. Mr. Mullins was a member of Freewill Baptist Church and was known as a good husband, a good daddy and a good father-in-law. He loved animals, gardening and yard work.



He departed this life on August 1, 2006 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 3 days.



Mr. Mullins is survived by his wife, Virgie Howard Mullins, of Savannah;

one daughter, Cindy Lou Mullins Vickery, also of Savannah; 2 grandchildren

and 3 great-grandchildren.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Mullins was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Stacy.
