Claude M. Foote, Jr., 73, of Toone, died Friday, August 19, 2005 at his home.



The husband of Faye Stewart Foote, who survives, was Vice President and loan officer with Hardeman County Bank and he worked at the International Shoe Company - Bolivar Tannery for 18 years. Mr. Foote was born November 13, 1931 in Toone, son of the late Claude M. Foote, Sr. and Oda Tims Foote. He lived in Toone all of his life and made his home across the driveway from the house where he was born. Mr. Foote had lived with heart disease and related complications since February of 1978.



He served as County Judge, Juvenile Court Judge, Probate Court Judge and County Executive of Hardeman County from 1974 to 1986. Mr. Foote was a member of the Tennessee and National Councils of Juvenile Court Judges for 8 years. He also served in the National Guard for several years as a First Sergeant and was a member of Toone Baptist Church since the age of 10 where he served in various positions including deacon for many years.



Services were 2 PM Sunday, August 21, 2005 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with John Farrar and Tommy Smith officiating. Burial was in Rainey Cemetery near Toone.



In addition to his wife, whom he married October 14, 1950, survivors include two sons, Stewart Keith Foote and Carey Mark Foote and one grandson, Adam Keith Foote, all of Toone.
