CLARENCE WELLS
Jackson, TN: Clarence Bishop Wells age 81, passed away December 13, 2021 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born September 25, 1940 in Chester County, the son of the late Owen and Johnnie Lott Wells.
In his early years he worked for Dyersburg Water Department and later worked in construction work. He enjoyed spending time out doors with farm animals and hunting.
He was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Cecile Rolison Wells of Jackson; a daughter, Renee Franks and a grandson, Austin Franks of Dyersburg; a stepdaughter, Rita Bailey of Jackson and a stepson, Steve Rolison of Jackson; three brothers, Tom Wells and Bobby Wells of Beech Bluff, TN and Charlie Wells of Cherokee, AL and a sister, Betty Ross of Beech Bluff, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Clarence Neil Wells and a brother, Jimmy Wells.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 16th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel, with Mayor Jerry Gist officiating. Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel beginning at 10:00 AM Thursday until service time at 1:00 PM.
