Clarence Thomas "Tom" Hixson, Jr.

Clarence Thomas "Tom" Hixson, Jr. was born on April 26, 1953 in Newport News, Virginia, the son of the late Clarence Thomas Hixson, Sr. and Virginia Lee Masters Hixson.

He was united in marriage to Nita L. Franks, who survives.

Tom received his masters degree in structural engineering and would go on to work for over 30 years as a structural engineer. He enjoyed playing golf and reading his Bible. He was a fan of all sports played by the University of Tennessee Vols. Tom was a member of Fleming Baptist Church in Fleming, Georgia.

Clarence Thomas "Tom" Hixson, Jr. departed this life on January 31, 2025 in Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 5 days.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Hixson.

He is survived by his wife, Nita Hixson of Cleveland, Tennessee; daughter, Lindsay Butler (Kene) and their son Coen, of St. Augustine, Florida; son, Kevin Hixson (Erin) and their children, Emma, Clara Kate, and Bennett, of Richmond Hill, Georgia; sister, Lisa Hinton (Myron) of Columbia, South Carolina, and her sons, Lee Hinton (Jessica) and Kyle Hinton (Kayla); and his late brother, Greg's children, Jessica Russell (Jeremy) and Gregory Hixson (Heather).

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Hardin Home. They loved Tom like family and affectionately referred to him as "TN Tom".
