Clara Welch

Clara Welchwas born in Clifton, Tennessee on April 24, 1926 the daughter of the late Fred and Zelma Opal Walker Holder.On April 12, 1942 she was united in marriage to Joe Press Welch, who preceded her in death on August 19, 1993.Ms. Welch was a member of the Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and enjoyed making flower arrangements and playing the piano.Ms. Welch departed this life on May 7, 2008 at the age of 82 years, 13 days.Ms. Welch is survived by 2 daughters: Patricia Ann Welch of McKenzie, Tennessee, Nancy Carol Welch Stricklin and her husband Joe of Savannah, Tennessee; a sister: Shirley Marion Holder Bruce of Gaithersburg, Maryland; 4 grandchildren: Teresa Mathis Howard of Washington, Laurie Lankford of Yuma, Tennessee, Renee Johnson of Lexington, Tennessee, Thomas Edward Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee; 6 great-grandchildren: Annie Howard and Joey Howard both of Bellingham, Washington, Krystal Howard of Texas, Kristen Lankford and Matthew Lankford both of Yuma, Tennessee, Joseph Thomas Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee; 1 great-great-grandchild: Aiden.In addition to her husband and parents, Ms. Welch was preceded in death by a brother: Joel H. Holder; a sister: Vina Flo Holder Cheek.
