Clara Mae Smotherman Haddock

Clara Mae Smotherman Haddock was born on November 2, 1934, in Waynesboro, TN. She was the daughter of the late Huey Robert and Abree Dean Smotherman. Clara was happily married to Howard Lutton Haddock for 69 years. Together they built a family with Christian values, love, and warmth. She was a dedicated member for over 40 years at the Waynesboro Church of God. Clara enjoyed cooking meals for her family, spending time with friends, shopping, watching Wheel of Fortune, and praising the Lord. She was known for her delicious fried chicken, humor, and her love for Red birds and Jesus.

She was survived by her children, Linda Gail Haddock Rittman (Michael) and Robert McKinley Haddock (Jenny); grandchildren, Jessica Ryan Smith (Brian), Abree Ann Brown (Ben), Christopher Cody Rittman (Kira), Brady Kane Rittman (Kayce), Jake Scott Calton (Alyssa), and Luke Brannon Calton (Kaylan); great grandchildren, Carter Wilson Smith, Corbin McKinley Smith, Tyler Dayne Brown, Emmy Reece Brown, Neely Rion Brown, Emily Grace Schneidt, Hayden Michael Paul Rittman, Jaxon Kane Rittman, McKenleigh Clark Rittman, Ellie Michelle Rittman, Jakob Dale Calton, Karleigh Grace Calton, Maezie Kay Calton, and Nolan James Calton.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents, Huey and Abree Smotherman, husband, Howard Lutton Haddock, and siblings, Elzie Pete Smotherman, Carmie Smotherman Morgan, Mable Smotherman Davis, Mary Margaret Smotherman Long, James Buddy Smotherman, Ailean Smotherman, and Wilburn Smotherman.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Brian Smith and Luke Calton officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
