Clara McCarver, 79, of Toone, died Friday night, February 10, 2006, at Community Care of Rutherford County in Murfreesboro, TN.
The widow of Harvy McCarver who died October 4, 2002 and Albert Perry Haliburton who died June 19, 1964, she was a psychiatric aide at Western Mental Health Institute for over 30 years. Mrs. McCarver was born September 2, 1926 in Chester County, daughter of the late Ezra Vincent Hopper and Nellie Mae Howell Hopper and lived her life in Chester and Hardeman Counties. She enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Big Springs Methodist Church and former member of Toone Baptist Church.
Services were 11 am Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with David Cooper and Rickey Hazlegrove officiating. Burial was in Big Springs Cemetery near Medon.
Survivors include her son, William Haliburton of Murfreesboro; two stepdaughters, Gale Bryant of Bolivar and Carol Chandler of Toone; three sisters, Gladys Nicholson of Henderson, Mildred Hazelgrove of Beaufort, SC and Marilyn Baldwin of Sumter, SC; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack, Carl, Bill and Clarence Hopper. Memorials may be sent to Big Springs Methodist Church or Community Care of Rutherford County.
