Clara Mae Dixon

Clara Mae Whitehead Dixon of Waynesboro, TN was born April 11, 1945 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of the late Joe Cleveland and Ethel Mae Skelton Whitehead. Mrs. Dixon was a retired machine operater and of the baptist faith.

She departed this life, Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at her home at the age of 71 Years, 8 Months, 17 Days.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil Allen Dixon and daughter, Connie Lynette Glover both of Waynesboro, TN; granddaughters, Brittany Glover, Lonnie Dixon and Lana Hall; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Fallon, Jayden, Carter and Alana; a brother, Delbert Whitehead of Waynesboro, TN and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by a son, Marty Eugene Dixon; a brother, Donald Rex Whitehead and a sister, Jo Bell Hollis.

Services will be Friday, December 30, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Casey Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Allen Dixon, Justin Hill, David Donaldson, Raymond Morris, David Pope and Robert Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Staggs and Ken Lemay.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Friday, December 30, 2016 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
