Luray, TN: Christine Marjorie Rhodes was born in Hickory Flat, MS. December 25, 1933 daughter of the late Bardwell Bradford and Mildred Bain Bradford Hudson.
She grew up in Mississippi and lived in Memphis for several years as a young adult. She married Willie Garner in 1954 and he preceded her in death. She later married Roger Rhodes in 1980, he also preceded her. She was a retired employee of International Paper Company in Jackson. She later worked for Lexington Manor Nursing Home for 10 years.
She loved caring for animals, gardening, and cooking for her family. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Dean Garner (Joan) of Jackson; four daughters, Carol Emison (Jeff) of Jackson, Jamie Ballard (John) of Luray, Cathy Ferguson (Tommy) of Jackson, and Kim Alexander (Tracey) of Luray; a brother, Vick Hudson (Ann) of Myrtle, MS; three sisters, Patsy Bradford Hancock of Ripley, MS, Norma Hudson Hammock of Bakersfield, CA, and Bonnie Hudson Morgan (Charles) of Milan, TN; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; daughter-in- law, Deborah Garner of Jackson; and special cousin, Virginia Bradford Williams of Maury City, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands; two sons, David Garner and Glenn Gene Garner; two brothers, Frank Bradford and Troy Lamar Hudson; and sister, Inez Campbell.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Dr. James Huggins officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at East Main Chapel.
