CHARLIE “MACK†YATES
Was born in Oak Grove, Louisiana on February 24, 1942 the son of Mary Boutwell Yates and the late Ford Yates.
On January 20, 1968 he was united in marriage to the former Frances Ann Catron, who survives.
Mr.Yates was a service manager for Ryder Systems, Inc. since October of 1969. He was a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Yates was a member of Shiloh Golf Course. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, had started farming. Mr. Yates loved his grandchildren and had a special bond with his great-grandchildren.
He departed this life on March 20, 2006 at his residence in Savannah at the age of 64 years and 24 days.
Other than his wife, Frances of Savannah, he is survived by one son, Larry Lee Yates and his wife Becky of Savannah, Tennessee.
2 grandchildren, Heath Yates and Casey Yates, both of Savannah.
2 great-grandchildren, Riley Yates and Kylie Yates, both of Savannah.
