CHARLIE LAYTONwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on September 27, 1917 the son of the late Alfred Carl and Alma Pearl Meeks Layton.On December 24, 1938 he was united in marriage to Annie Ruth Byrd, who survives.Mr. Layton was an electrician for TVA. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Al Chymia Shrine Temples and the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electricial Workers). Mr. Layton enjoyed building things, watching football and Nascar, listening to music and gardening. He was interested in electronics physics and sports car rebuilding. He departed this life on April 17, 2009 at the Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka, Mississippi at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 21 days.Other than his wife, Annie Ruth Layton of Counce, Tennessee, he is survived by 2 sons, Kenneth Layton of Counce, Tennessee and Larry Layton of Corinth, Mississippi2 daughters, Carolyn Horton of Corinth, Mississippi and Brenda McGivern of Demopolis, Alabama.12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildrenone brother, Paul Layton of Counce, TennesseeMr. Layton was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Beatrice Surratt and Mary Hurley and one brother, Eugene Layton.
