Charlie R. Landers was born March 22, 1943 in Linden, Tennessee, the son of the late Charlie Cicero and Bessie Lee Duncan Landers. He was united in marriage to Laverne Holder on August 31, 1959.
Mr. Landers was a deck hand, a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee, a member of Masonic Lodge, and was owner and operator of Lil Charlie's for many years.
He departed this life on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Harbert Hills Nursing Home in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 66 Years, 4 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Laverne Holder Landers of Waynesboro, TN; two daughters, Sybil Warren of Clifton, TN, Lori Gough of Waynesboro, TN; two brothers, Jimmy Landers of Milan, TN, Johnny Landers of Saltillo, TN; four sisters, Mary Lou Gage and Peggy Hensley both of Linden, TN, Maybelle Terry of Humbolt, TN, Venus Ethridge of Scotts Hill, TN; Grandchildren, Jonathan Landers, Zachary Morgan, Blaine Ray, Kyle Morgan, Tonny Charleann Ray, Presley Bell Ray, Preston James Gough; Great Grandchild, Madison Taylor Landers; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Landers was preceded in death by two sons, Tony and Jeffery Landers.
Services will be held Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Casey Jones officiating and Masonic Rites. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Sunday, March 29, 2009 from noon until service time at the funeral home.
