Charlie J. Holt departed this life on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 68 Years, 9 Months, 6 Days. He was born January 29, 1944 in Collinwood, TN, the son of the late Charlie Houston and Pearl Lilly Newborn Holt. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holt was preceded in death by, brothers, Glen and Billy Wade Holt; sisters, Lydia Fay Bratcher and Mavis Newborn.
He was united in marriage to Mary Kathryn Holt on December 22, 1966.
Mr. Holt was a sawmill operator and owner of Holt 's sawmill and of the Church of Christ faith.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn Holt; son, Stacy Holt and wife, Shannon Leigh; grandson, Charlie Macabe Holt; brothers, Johnny Holt and wife, Glenda, Bobby Ray Holt and wife, Denise; sisters, Mary Lou Sherrill and Alice Marie Holt all of Collinwood, TN; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne and Dwight Sherrill, Larry and Harlon Robbins, Kevin Heard, and Bobby Shannon Holt. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Harrison, Jordan Holt, and John Holt.
He was united in marriage to Mary Kathryn Holt on December 22, 1966.
