Charlie Durham, 92, of Bartlett, formerly of Grand Junction, died early Friday morning, July 7, 2006 at the VA Regional Hospital in Memphis.
The widower of Laura Ethel Pruitt Durham, who died November 27, 1992, he was a farmer. Mr. Durham was born December 2, 1913 in Walnut, MS and lived in Saulsbury prior to making his home in Grand Junction in 1960. He served in the U. S. Army Air Force in the Pacific Campaign during WWII.
Services were 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Jerry Barker officiating. Burial was in Saulsbury Cemetery.
He is survived by one brother, Roland Durham of Bells; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and eight great, great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Elizabeth Gooch; five sisters, Effie Pace, Mamie Carter, May Hall, Irene and Willie and one brother, Emmett Durham.
