Charlie Edgar Byrd

Mr. Charlie Edgar Byrd was born September 16, 1942 in Wayne County, TN the son of the late Charlie Lando and Rachel Odessa Bradley Byrd. He was united in marriage to the former Brenda Crews on June 7, 1963. He worked as a farmer and then later in life started and operated Byrd Auto Glass. He was a member of the Wayne Furnace Church of Christ in Waynesboro. Mr. Byrd departed this life on January 24, 2022 in Lawrenceburg, TN at the age of 79 Years, 4 Months and 8 Days.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Brenda Crews Byrd of Lawrenceburg, TN; two daughters, Dawn Sinclair and husband Bill of Waynesboro, TN, Daphne Woodside and husband Eddie of Lawrenceburg, TN; a sister, Saundra Grinder of Collinwood, TN; two brothers, Bruce Byrd of St. Louis, MO, Ricky Byrd and wife Loretta of Mt. Pleasant, TN; seven grandchildren, Ian Powell, Reagan Powell, Tyler Woodside and wife Martha Kristin, Alexandra Woodside, Charli Woodside, Jake Sinclair and Will Sinclair. He is also survived by his niece, Noelle Goldsby husband Troy and their children Josie and Ronnie;nephew Alan Gobbell and his sons, Lane and Riley; and niece Angie Gobbell.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by a son, Alexander Grant Byrd and a sister, Brenda Leighton.

Services will be held on Wednesday January 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro with Cary Crews officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Methodist Church Cemetery at Lawrenceburg, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors Assisting.

The family has requested in lieu of flower donations be made to St. Jude.
