Charles Larry Young

Charles Larry Young was born on June 10, 1937 son of the late Horry Young and Lessie Griffin Young. He grew up with his grandparents, Charlie B. and Ludie Griffin. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Robbins on August 4, 1957. Charles was employed with General Electric Company in Selmer for 26 years. He was a member of Selmer First Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star Dixie Chapter 115, and a 32nd. Degree Mason in Purdy Lodge 132. He served in the Tennessee National Guard.Charles departed this life on Sunday, June 6, 2010, in Selmer at the age of 72 years, 11 months, and 27 days.Survivors are his wife of nearly 52 years, Carolyn Young of Selmer; a son, Charles Austin Young and wife Renee of Selmer; two grandchildren, James Austin Young and Lindsey Brooke Young; stepmother, Nettie Young of Selmer; three half-sisters, Marie Plunk of Finger, Tennessee, Becky Erwin of Sardis, Tennessee, and Lucy Snider of Finger. A host of other relatives and friends.
