Charles Thomas Whitehead

Charles Thomas Whitehead of Iron City, TN was born December 23, 1935 in Wayne Co., TN, the son of the late Charlie Andrew and Ruby Louetta Morton Whitehead. Mr. Whitehead, a former real estate and insurance salesman, retired from CCA in Clifton, TN and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was one of Hacker's, a local golfing group.

Mr. Whitehead departed this life on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Perry Community Hospital in Linden, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 2 Months, 26 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Lila Lee Martin Whitehead and a daughter, Tanzie Whitehead both of Iron City, TN; a brother, Harold Gene Whitehead of New Johnsonville, TN; a sister, Lucretia Long of Lawrenceburg, TN; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitehead was preceded in death by a son, James Thomas (Tommy) Whitehead; a daughter, Lisa Whitehead; and a sister, Alice Mae Butler.

Services will be Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Sonny Bogus officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will Ralph Horton, Allen Barnett, David Hollis, Carl Fred Daniel, Ralph Statom, and Phillip Martin with David Brewer serving as a honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 5:30 pm to 8 pm and Sunday, March 23, 2014 from noon to service time at the funeral home.
