Services for Charles Hubert Victory, 72, Cypress Inn, TN, will be Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Collinwood, TN with Marvin Morrow and Tim Hanback officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery, Cypress Inn, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, June 16, 2006 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturday, June 17, 2006 from 9:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will Gary Wayne Victory, Brad Stults, Chad Stults, Paul Horton, Jerry Watkins, Anthony Victory and honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Roth, Charles Simpson, and Moe Holloway.
Mr. Victory was born September 11, 1933 and left behind the pain of this world on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 after a long term battle with cancer and joins his family who went on before him. He was a beloved son of the late Leonard and Clora Horton Victory and a brother of the late James L. Victory and Larry Victory.
Mr. Victory returned to Cypress Inn, TN in 2000 with his wife after living in Taylor, MI for many years and was loved by all including his wife of 51 ½ years, Patricia C. Pratt Victory; his son, Ronald D. Victory and wife, Phyllis F., Flat Rock, MI; his daughter, Kimberley J. Victory-Drain and husband, Stephen W., Taylor, MI; three granddaughters, Krystal L. Victory-Roberts and husband, Marty, Middlesboro, KY; Lakyn A. J. [Victory] Drain, who has been living in Cypress Inn for the past year but formerly of Taylor, MI; Penny L. Victory, Flat Rock, MI; one step-great-granddaughter, Paige Roberts, Middlesboro, KY; brothers, Ross H. Victory and wife, Pat, Iron City, TN; Kenneth Arnold Victory, Cypress Inn, TN; Raleigh McArthur (Doc) Victory, Dearborn, MI; Cletus Alonzo Victory and wife, Julie, Whitmore Lake, MI; sister, Martha J. Victory Stults and husband, Roger, Cypress Inn, TN; aunts, Lora Horton Victory, Dola Horton Rich.
He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including great-nieces and great-nephews, however, one great-nephew, Sebastian Stults, Cypress Inn, TN, was the apple of his eye.
Charles Hubert (Charlie) Victory was honored on many occasions for his dedication and devotion to both the Masons, of which he was a life-time member of Findlater Lodge #475 in Detroit, MI and Moslem Temple Shrine, where he was in the Clown unit until his health would no longer allow. Only God knows how many children, Mr. Victory sponsored to attend the Shriner’s Hospital Crippled and Burn Centers. He supported them both emotionally and financially.
Charlie attended Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a friend to everyone. He will always be missed and loved by both family and friends. We wish you God Speed……………..
