Charles A. Jones

Charles A. Jones was born July 28, 1930 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Dalton and Zilphia Horton Jones. He was united in marriage to Betty Glidewell on December 29, 1951.Mr. Jones was retired from the McNairy County Highway Department and was also a farmer. He was a member of the Stantonville United Methodist Church, the Masons, the American Legion and was a committee member of the McNairy County Republican Party. Mr. Jones was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.Mr. Jones departed this life on May 5, 2006 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 75 Years, 9 Months, 7 Days. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Glidewell Jones of Selmer, Tennessee; a daughter, Linda Jones Gilchrist of Selmer, Tennessee; a son, Stanley Jones of Branson, Missouri; four sisters: Marie Volner of Selmer, Tennessee, Louise Teague of Selmer, Tennessee, Betty Sue Milford of Adamsville, Tennessee and Carolyn Milam of Warner Robbins, Georgia; a brother, Jerry Jones of Selmer, Tennessee; 6 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was also preceded in death by two brothers, J. D. and John Jones.
