Charles Edward Davis departed this life on Friday, August 26, 2016, at the age of 72 years and 17 days. He was born in Olive Hill, Tennessee on August 9, 1944, the son of the late Robert and Pearl Bowling Davis.
Charles had lived in Berrien Springs, Michigan from 1965 until 2006, where he worked at Gast Manufacturing in Benton Harbour, Michigan. After retirement, he moved back to his hometown of Savannah, Tennessee. He was an active member of the Olive Hill Baptist Church, helping with the men's breakfast, VBS, drove the church van, and did mission work. He loved to fish and watch wrestling, and back in the day he was also pretty sharp with a pool cue. He loved his nieces and nephews and was very involved in their lives, and was known as "Uncle CC" or "Country Chuck".
He is survived by his sister, Mary Meyer of Niles, Michigan; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of friends.
In additions to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin "Buddy" Davis; sisters, Virginia Bishop and Marjorie Schmitt.
