Charles "Doc" Connor departed this life on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at the age of 94 years, 4 months, and 5 days. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 2, 1925, the son of the late Oliver Perry and Mildred Elizabeth Wood Connor. On October 15, 1947, he was united in marriage to Gertrude Carla Spurlock, who preceded him in death on October 16, 2006.
While living in Cincinnati, Ohio, Charles helped to co-found Northbrook Civic Association and the Northbrook Athletic Club. He served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II from 1943 - 1946. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, taking walks, home projects, woodworking, and following his grandsons baseball careers. Charles was a member of First Baptist Church of Adamsville, Tennessee.
He is survived by his son, Michael Connor; daughters, Deborah Mains and Patricia Gagyi and her husband Steve; grandchildren, Brian, Carrie, Traci, Chris, and Derek; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Goldie Westrich.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Charles was preceded in death his brother, Ralph Connor; sisters, Mary Peters, Fran Ernst, and Betty Priestle; and a daughter in law, Barbara Connor.
Services will be held on December 12, 2019 at 5:30 PM at First Baptist Church in Adamsville, Tennessee, with Chad Ball officiating.
