Charles A. Walton

Charles A. Walton, 96, of Bolivar, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Bolivar General Hospital.

He was born Sunday, September 12, 1926, son of the late Charles Albert Walton and Mable Shinault Walton. He was a retired factory worker with the Armira Corporation and also was a farmer. He married Martha Sadler on July 26, 1947, and she preceded him in death on May 31, 2006. Mr. Walton loved cattle farming and generally just being on his farm. He was a US Army veteran and a member of Parrans Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda Cossar (Jimmy) of Bolivar; two sisters, Margaret Vance of Bolivar and Janie Jones of Bartlett; four brothers, Robert Walton of Bolivar, Ted Walton of Bethel Springs, Fred Walton (Barbara) of Bolivar and Thomas Walton of Bolivar; two grandsons, Craig Cossar (Jan) of Somerville and Keith Cossar of Bolivar; and two great grandchildren, Kara Cossar and Matthew Cossar, both of Somerville. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by twin daughters, Sandra Kay and Donna Faye; a son, Dana Walton; an infant son; a sister, Opal Martin and four brothers, Jimmie, William, Joe and Frank Walton. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to Parrans Chapel Baptist Church.
