Mrs. Dukes passed away Tuesday morning at Baptist Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.
The widow of Robert Fred Dukes, who died February 23, 1994 after 53 years of marriage, she retired as a secretary at Western Mental Health Institute. Mrs. Dukes was born April 10, 1921 in Pocahontas to the late Tolbert Clay Fortune and Minnie Robinson Fortune and lived most of her life in Hardeman County before moving to Mississippi 10 years ago. She was a member of Bolivar Church of Christ and served on the Bolivar City Council in the 1970's.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Wade of Oxford, MS; a grandson, Dax Wade of Olive Branch, MS; a great granddaughter, Kenedy Wade of Olive Branch, MS; two sisters, Bobbie Prevatt of Jacksonville, FL and Betty Ijames of Pascagoula, MS; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Kennedy of Middleton.
