Cecil Allen Strickland was born July 17, 1953 in Ansted, WV, the son of the late Orval Ora and Bertha Esta Neff Strickland. He departed this life on December 29, 2019 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 66 Years, 5 Months, 12 Days.
Mr. Strickland worked for Hurst and Son's Lumber Company for nearly 40 years. He was selfless and had a heart of gold. He was a joker and found laughter in every situation. Cecil's most valuable treasure in life was his family. He found joy from the simple things in life, including watching the critters that filled his yard and the family that filled his heart. He had a love for working with his hands and Ford trucks. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, helping others whenever he could, and playing and laughing with his grandkids. Anyone who met Cecil would tell you he left behind shoes nearly impossible to fill.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Williams Strickland of Bethel Springs, TN; his children: Robert Strickland and wife Mary of Bolivar, TN, Danny "Burr" Strickland and wife Sarah of Bethel Springs, TN, Lora McMahan and husband Robert of Rose Creek, TN; two sisters, Luella Willis and husband Walter of Henderson, TN, Wilma Morris and husband Dennis of Henderson, TN; two brothers, Masel Strickland of McNairy, TN, Albert Strickland and wife Donna of Henderson, TN; seven grandchildren: Chelsey Price, Raven Strickland, Morgan "Poop Poop" Page Strickland, Megan Morris, Lily Strickland, Chloe "Frank" Strickland, Nick Morris; a great grandchild, Tatum Dove; special friends, Billy Clyde Hurst, Joe Davidson and Stanley Chambers.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by a grandchild, Christopher Michael Strickland; a sister, Bethel Strickland Smith; a brother, Leslie "Buddy" Strickland.
