Cecil E. Hampton

Mr. Hampton passed away Sunday afternoon at his home in Saulsbury.



The husband of Frances Hampton, who survives, he was a carpenter for Moorehead Home Improvement. He was born October 27, 1940 in Arlington to the late Bailey Edward Hampton and Mattie Pearl Conilison Hampton and lived most of his life in Shelby County. Mr. Hampton enjoyed gardening, cooking, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.



In addition to his wife, whom he married October 10, 1983, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Hampton of Nashville, Mary Kelley of Memphis; two stepdaughters, Jean Rogers and Ann Scott, both of Memphis; a stepson, Randy Moorehead of Saulsbury; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Harper of Memphis, Betty Young of Eads; and three brothers, Ed Hampton of Memphis, Bill Hampton of Arlington, and Roger Hampton of Horn Lake, MS. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother, James Hampton.
