Mr. Cecil Cox, age 89 of Medon, Tennessee passed away Monday night, October 13, 2014 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was the widower of Eutha K. Cox who passed away in 2000.
A native of Chester County, he was a carpenter all of his life and also worked as a farmer and heavy equipment operator. He was born November 29, 1924, to Oliver Clifford Cox and Bertie Lenore Henry Cox, both of whom preceded him in death and lived most of his life in Chester County. He served in the Navy during WW II on the USS Blair. He enjoyed fishing and building dog houses and other items to sell. He was a member of Big Springs Methodist Church in Medon.
Survivors include a daughter, Faye Lively Cox of Mobile, AL; a sister, Bertha Luck of Henderson; two grandchildren, Angela Harris of Finger and Clint Lively of Old Hickory; three great grandchildren, Amy Lively Davis, Courtney Harris and Kyle Lively; and four great great grandchildren, Ava and Addison, Grayson and Emma Grace. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
