Carroll Franklin Bodiford Sr. was born February 20, 1939 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Arnold A. and Emorgia (Margie) Robinson Bodiford.
He was united in marriage to Carol Peterson on July 29, 1963.
Mr. Bodiford was a former basketball coach and teacher for the Memphis City School System for approximately 5 years (his Jr. High team won the district championship in the 1960's). He later worked in sales and was retired at the time of his death. Mr. Bodiford was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church, and was instrumental in founding the Selmer Pee-Wee Football program and the Selmer Civitan Club.
Mr. Bodiford departed this life on December 9, 2006 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 67 Years, 9 Months, 19 Days. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol Peterson Bodiford of Selmer, Tennessee; two sons: Chuck Bodiford and wife Vickie (Knight) and their children Alex, Brianna and Caitlyn, all of Selmer, Tennessee and Derek Bodiford and wife Sallie (Simpson) and their children Clara, Chase, Callie Paige and Chloe, all of Selmer, Tennessee; two brothers: Clice Bodiford of Middleton, Tennessee and Curtis Bodiford and wife Bettye of Nashville, Tennessee; two sisters: Clois Minor of Memphis, Tennessee and Clarice Bodiford of Brownsville, Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bodiford was also preceded in death by three brothers: Clifford Bodiford, Charles Bodiford and Carlin Bodiford.
