CARRIE NELL SHELBY
was born in Savannah, Tennessee on August 14, 1928 the daughter of the late Harve Dan and Margaret Elizabeth Hosea Rich.
On April 8, 1950 she was united in marriage to H. G. (Red) Shelby, who survives.
Carrie retired after 40 years from Brown Shoe Company where she worked in the office. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Carrie was also a member of Savannah Book Club, Eastern Star, Historical Society, the Women's Republican Party of Hardin County and the Wesleyan Circle. Carrie was an avid reader and historian.
She departed this life on November 27, 2012 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 13 days.
In addition to her H. G. (Red) Shelby of Savannah, Tennessee, she is survived by her children, Kevin Shelby and his wife Jana of Savannah, Tennessee and Kerry Shelby and his wife Diane of Key West, Florida
three grandchildren, Kristen Shelby, Craig Taylor and Candi Baker
three great grandchildren, Shelby Baker, Wade Taylor and Kaden Taylor
two sister in laws, Joyce Morris of Hartsville, Tennessee and Joann Jacobson of Savannah, Tennessee
In addition to her parents, Carrie was also preceded in death by one sister, Edith Wells
