Carrie Lee Ricketts

Carrie Lee Prater Ricketts of Clifton, TN was born July 26, 1912 in Clifton, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Allen and Arzona Stricklin Prater. She was united in marriage to Elbert Lee Ricketts and he preceded her in death on February 10, 1958.



Mrs. Ricketts was a homemaker and retired factory worker. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Clifton, Tennessee and had been a member of the Pentecostal Church over 50 years.



Mrs. Ricketts departed this life on Monday, April 20, 2009 at Wayne County Nursing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 8 Months, 25 Days.



She is survived by two sons, Billy J. Ricketts and wife, Fran of Angier, NC, Devaughn Ricketts of Tuscumbia, AL; a sister, Osa McClain of TN; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.



In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ricketts was preceded in death by a daughter, Madelyn Eaves and husband, Kenneth; a son, James M. Ricketts; a sister, Louise Hardiman Rogers.



Services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 1:00 PM at First United Pentecostal Church, Clifton, TN with Billy Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Prater's Chapel Cemetery, Clifton, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the funeral home. Her body will be placed in the church two hours before the services. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
