Carrie Childers
was born in Tishomingo County, Mississippi on April 17, 1925 the daughter of the late Emmett Jackson and Nettie Wilcutt Campbell.
She was united in marriage to Robert Harve Fondren, who preceded her in death. She was then married to Eulas Childers, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Childers worked as a clerk at the Hardin County Senior Citizens Center and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
She departed this life on October 26, 2005 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 9 days.
Mrs. Childers is survived by
2 daughters: Saundra Hughes of Counce, Tennessee
Joyce Wright of Cookeville, Tennessee;
3 sons: Travis Fondren of Orlando, Florida
Bob Fondren of Savannah, Tennessee
Stan Fondren of Hardin County, Tennessee;
2 step-sons: Paul Childers and David Childers, both of Counce, Tennessee;
11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren;
one sister, Daisy Meeks of Dyer, Tennessee;
and one brother, Elmer Campbell of Counce, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Emily Willis; 3 brothers: Pete, Bill and Ed Campbell; and 2 sisters: Velma Boggs and Pearl Browder.
