Carolyn Young

Carolyn Young of Selmer, TN departed this life on October 5, 2016 at the age of 83 Years, 4 Days. She was born October 1, 1933 in Paducah, KY the daughter of the late J. P. Robbins and Mable Clare Walker Robbins. She was united in marriage to Charles Larry Young on August 4, 1956. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2010.

Carolyn was a member of Selmer First Baptist Church where she recently retired as Custodian. She previously had worked at Brown Shoe Company and as a home health CNA. She was a member of The Order Of the Eastern Star at Selmer Lodge #115. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved and enjoyed taking care of her cockatoo bird.

She is survived by two grandchildren, James Austin Young and wife Adrien and Lindsey Brooke Young, both of Selmer; four sisters, Dorothy Jay Goodrum and husband Jeff of Selmer, TN, Lilly Terry of Henderson, TN, Shirley Smith and husband Charles Maynard of Selmer, TN, Jennie Mooney and husband Nelson of Henderson, TN; a brother, James Robbins and wife Brenda of Selmer, TN; her daughter-in-law, Renee Basham Young of Selmer and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by a son, Charles Auston Young on August 26, 2016; three sisters, Constance Marie Robbins, Mary Mildred Robbins, Anita Robbins; three brothers, Jack Robbins, Billy Joe Robbins, Ugene Robbins.
