Carolyn Rose Stewart Ash, of Middleton. departed this life on Monday, February 8, 2021, at Unity Healthcare in Martin, TN.
The daughter of the late Joel Houston Stewart and Tressie Lillie Harris Stewart, she was born May 26, 1937 in Sandy Springs and lived most of her life in Middleton and Houston, TX.
She worked as the switchboard operator and main office reception for two large high schools in Houston, Westchester and Stratford. She loved the faculty and kids, attending football games, plays, orchestra, and choir performances. She found joy and love in many things: her family, her church family at Middleton Church of Christ, her classmates, friends at West Tennessee Day Lily Society and Hardeman County Garden Club, the ladies of Hatchie Chapter DAR, any flowers, every tree.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Roger E. "Bud" Ash of Dahlonega, GA. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle of Austin, TX; a brother, Ronald Stewart (Betty) of Hickory Valley; a sister, Brenda Eslinger of Waco, TX; nephews, Keith Stewart (Leigh), Dr. Todd Stewart (Leigh Ann), Jason Stewart (Christine), Scott Eslinger; and niece, Stephanie Lougheed.
Memorial Contributions in her name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (http://www.stjude.org) or the charity of your choice.
The wearing of masks or facial coverings is preferred by the family while attending visitation or services. Also, please consider the following:
* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;

* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
