Carmen Butler

Carmen Wilson Butler was born September 21, 1919 in Wayne Co, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Shelby W. and Ida Barnett Wilson. She was united in marriage to Jesse Willard Butler on May 3, 1946 and he preceded her in death on October 8, 1992. Mrs. Butler was a homemaker and nurse and was a member of the Railroad Methodist Church in Iron City, Tennessee. She is survived by a son, Winston Wilson (Butch) Butler of Iron City, TN; four sisters, Wylodene Staggs and Reba Brown both of Iron City, TN, Dorothy Whitten and Shelby Jean Smith both of Cypress Inn, TN; several nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by a sister, Sybil Whitten. Mrs. Butler departed this life on Monday, August 3, 2009 at Wayne County Nursing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 10 Months, 13 Days.A graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Railroad Cemetery in Iron City, Tennessee with Ted Alan Stricklin officiating. Burial will follow with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing.
