Carlos Elder

April 8, 1931 — November 20, 2005

Carlos Elder, Jr., 74, of Pinson, died Sunday, November 20, 2005 at his home.



The husband of Betty J. Collins Elder, who survives, he was an antiques dealer for 21 years and worked at the Armira Corp. for 10 years. Mr. Elder was born April 8, 1931 in Madison County, son of the late Carlos Elder, Sr. and Agnes Collins Elder and lived in Toone most of his life. His family stated that he was a loving and caring husband and father who loved trading antiques as well as fishing and duck hunting. Mr. Elder was a member of Toone Baptist Church,



Services were 2 pm Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Timmy Petersen and Jerry Barker officiating. Burial was in Maple Springs Cemetery near Mercer with Gerald and Tony Hooper, Larry Thomas, Nicholas Stewart, Joe Coley and Jeff Davis serving as casket bearers.



In addition to his wife, whom he married April 23, 1992, he is survived by one daughter and her husband, Susan Ann and Billy Burkeen of Bolivar; three sons, Carl Glenn Elder, Calvin L. Elder and his wife, Tiffany and Kenneth Earl Elder and his wife, Peggy, all of Toone; two step-daughters, Doris Keller of Bolivar and Linda Watson of Henderson; one step-son, John Robert Johnson of Middleton; one sister, Virginia Tapp of Southaven, Miss.; eight grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
