Mr. Rowland was born on October 3, 1920 in Chester County to Tom and Annie Rowland who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Zola Arnold Rowland, whom he married on December 24, 1941 (66 years). He had resided in the Woodville Community his entire life.
During World War II he served as a medic in Company A 6th Medical Battalion. His Battalion served longer on the front lines, more than 366 days without leave.
He farmed his entire life as well as serving as a bus driver for the Chester County School System for seventeen years. He was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by four children; Skippy (Shirley) Rowland and Phyllis (Jimmy) Donaldson of Henderson, TN; Betty (Larry) Robison of Bruceton, TN; and Nelda (Jerry) Fry of Bolivar, TN.
Also surviving him are ten grandchildren; John (Beth) Robison of Medina; David (Tonya) Robison of Bruceton; Blake (Jennifer) and Lori Fry of Bolivar; Kristi (Heath) Taylor, Jamie Donaldson and Jimmy (Emily) Donaldson all of Henderson; Josh (Amanda) Rowland of Jackson; Leslie (Ron) Meeks of Ripley, MS and Angel Cox of Henderson; and twelve great-grandchildren.
He is survived by one brother, Drew Rowland of Henderson and four sisters, Clara Arnold of Troy, Ruth Tolbert of Bethel Springs, Joyce Whitman of Selmer, and Reba Cupples of Henderson.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Curtis, Romus and Marvin Rowland and one sister Margaret Capps.
