Mr. Buford Lay departed this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 3 Months, 26 Days.He was born December 26, 1927 in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of the late Fred and Ella Moser Lay. Mr. Buford was a retired employee of the City of Waynesboro.He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Collins Lay; son, Roger Lay; daughter, Susie Lay; grandchildren, McKenzie Lay and Stethon Martin all of Waynesboro, TN; sisters, Aileen Pearson of Savannah, TN, and Earlene Sanderson of Halls, TN Services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Josh Stults officiating. Burial will be in Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 5:30 pm to 9 pm and Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
