Bolivar, TN

Bruce Cross, a beloved resident of Hardeman County, Tennessee, has passed away at his home in Bolivar, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on December 19, 1944, Bruce lived a remarkable life filled with kindness, laughter, and a deep passion for his community.

Throughout his career, Bruce dedicated 43 years of his life to Kilgore, pouring endless hours of hard work and unwavering commitment into his profession. His strong work ethic and steadfastness earned him the respect and admiration of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

While Bruce's career was an integral part of his life, it was in his hobbies and interests that he truly found solace and enjoyment. He had a great love for nature and all wild animals. Spending countless hours hunting raccoons and fishing in the beautiful landscapes surrounding Hardeman County brought joy to his heart. Additionally, Bruce had a knack for finding pecans during their season and would often share the delicious harvest with family and friends.

Those who knew Bruce well will remember him as both a jokester and a nurturing presence. He cherished moments spent playing with children, sharing special memories with his family, and watching classic western movies that brought excitement to his days. An accomplished dancer with smooth moves on the dance floor, he radiated happiness every time he swept Betty, the love of his life, across the floor.

Bruce leaves behind a legacy that will forever be treasured by those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. His memory will be carried on by his adoring wife Betty C. Fish Cross along with step daughters Joyce Hampton (Greg) of Hornsby, Patricia Ridley (Wade) of Whiteville, and Daisy German (Glenn) of Somerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac M. and Bonnie C. Hatch Cross; cherished siblings Ann Sammons and Joyce Kay; brother-in-law Eddie Smith; grandchild, Justin Ridley; niece Michelle LaCroix; and nephews Chris Bolin, Joey Owens, and Glenn Williamson.

In addition to his immediate family, Bruce's memory will be cherished by his sisters Linda King (John) of Corinth, MS, Sandra Carroll (Gawaine) of Bolivar, Teresa Smith of Brownsville, and brother Tommy Cross (Wanda) of Collierville. His grandchildren, Angel Bowden, Rebecca Pittsley, Jordan Ridley, Danielle Claunch, Joshua German, great nephew Austin Cossar and a host of nieces and nephews, who were blessed to have Bruce in their lives, will forever hold dear the moments spent with their loved one
