Services will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Casey Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the McCauley Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements.



Visitation will be on Friday, April 16, 6:--9:00 pm and on Saturday, April 17, 8:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home,



Mr. Hicks was born October 2, 1924 to Grace Burrell and Will Clemons. He departed this life on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 6 Months, 12 Days. He was united in marriage to Margaret Seamon October 24, 1956. To this union 3 children were born: William Turner, William Thomas, and Susan Hicks.



A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a Private First Class serving from March 18, 1943 till January 15, 1946 in central Europe during World War II. He earned several metals and awards during his time in the service. He was a member of the American Legion and of the Baptist faith.



He was a well known and loved man of the Waynesboro Community. He retired from the Wayne County Nursing Home at age 62 and worked at the Wayne County Bank until his health failed.



He was preceded in death by both parents and step-father, Russell Hicks. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Margaret Seamon Hicks; 3 children, William Jug (Clara) Hicks, William Bill Hicks (Shelia & Justin), and Susan Sissie Hicks (Bobby); two grandchildren, Tanisha Hicks (James), Eric (Misty) Hicks; 6 Great-grandchildren, Keosha, Mia, and Takia, Crig, Quinton, and Zaylee; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special friends, the Haggard Family who made him apart of their family and also the employees of Wayne County Bank.
