Brenda Joyce Mills was born September 4, 1951 in Savannah, TN the daughter of the late Edward Earl and Anna Elizabeth Terry White. She was raised in the Pyburn/Nixon community of Hardin County.
She was united in marriage to Greg Mills on February 8, 1980.
Brenda was first and foremost a devout Christian, a soldier for Christ. She loved the Lord. She was an active member of Piney Grove Church of God and led worship. She volunteered in Jackson with Celebrate Recovery, a Christ centered recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind. Her words of encouragement were authentic and came from the heart. She wrote beautiful poetry and songs that spoke of faith, home, and family.
Brenda loved her family and cherished her grandchildren. She had special moments with each grandchild. She played with them and their toys including the "Red Rider Tricycle." According to her family, she rode the tricycle more than her grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing and making people laugh.
Mrs. Mills departed this life on June 3, 2019 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 67 Years, 8 Months, 30 Days. She is survived by her husband, Greg Mills of Bethel Springs, TN; a son, Brandon Haggard and wife Kim of Bethel Springs, TN; two daughters, Brandy Alysha Wilson and husband James of Bethel Springs, TN, Stephanie Harbin and husband Jeremy of Bethel Springs, TN; a sister, Barbara Majors and husband John of Savannah, TN; five grandchildren, Madison Williams, Molly Harbin, Canaan Haggard, Lake Wilson, Shiloh Haggard; a great-granddaughter, McKennon Williams; best friend, Melissa Green of Ray City, GA; close cousins, Wade Nixon, Terry Lynn Nixon, Denise Bennett, Patty Scott, Billy Paul Terry, Connie Hardin and the Lundy girls: Diane, Linda, and Barbara.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by a close cousin, Tina Nixon Gann.
