Henderson, TN: Brenda Lee Mathews Barton, age 74, passed away at her home Saturday evening July 2, 2022.
She was born and reared in Hardin County, Illinois, the daughter of the late William Loren and Frankie Mae Allen Mathews. She attended school in Hardin County, IL and married Bobby Bruce Barton in 1965. They moved to Henderson in 1978 and she worked at ITT Grinnell. Mr. Barton died in 2021. Mrs. Barton enjoyed spending time at the river.
She is survived by a son Darin Barton and wife Kim, two grandchildren John Mason Barton and Bradley Barton, three great grandchildren, a sister Linda Bebout and husband John of Lexington, TN and a brother Larry Mathews and wife Rita of Rosiclare, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (April 5, 2021), daughter Tammy Lynn Barton (January 16, 2022), and two brothers Dennis Mathews and Nolan Mathews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday July 6th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Clint Bulkhead officiating. Burial will follow at Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the East Main Chapel beginning at 11:00 AM Wednesday.
