Boyd Stricklin

Boyd Hassel Stricklin was born on December 19, 1945 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late Clarence Jefferson Stricklin and Ora Bell Williams Stricklin. He was united in marriage to Paulette Holloway Stricklin, who survives.

Boyd lived in Hardin County for the majority of his life and then moved to Lawrenceburg, TN. He retired from Nafco in Florence, Alabama. He attended Whites’ Creek Freewill Baptist Church for many years and then attended Canaan Freewill Baptist Church in Lawrence County, TN. More recently, Boyd had been rotating between his three children’s churches. He loved God and his family; especially his six grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, daddy, papaw, son, brother, and cousin but most of all he was a Child of God and sought after His Will. He was a hard worker his whole life. He loved farming, his goats, cows and working on his tractors. He was always looking for a great deal! He loved to trade and sell. Traveling and fishing were also some of his favorite things to do!

Boyd departed this life on October 22, 2024 at his residence in Florence, AL at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 3 days. 

He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Paulette Holloway Stricklin of Waterloo, AL; daughters Melissa Matlock (Mike), of Moulton, Alabama and Donna Campbell (Mark) of New Market, AL, son Douglas Stricklin (Mindy) of Florence, AL; grandchildren Emerald Matlock, Abbi Matlock, and Tyler Matlock of Moulton, AL; Joshua Campbell of New Market, AL and Savannah Campbell of Bethesda, MD; Syble Grace Stricklin of Florence, AL. His bothers Loyd C. Stricklin and Gloyd Stricklin both of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Boyd was preceded in death by his brother Earl Stricklin and his sisters Elveta Stricklin, Edith Scott and Dorothy Toney.
