Boyce Edward Prater

Boyce Edward (Hawk) Prater of Waynesboro, TN, formerly of the Beech Creek Community, was born May 3, 1942 in Wayne Co., Tennessee, the son of the late John Wesley and Alice Jane Graham Prater. Mr. Prater was a farmer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Prater was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Prater; two sisters, Jane Evelyn Prater and Mary Ellen Pope; Grandparents, Columbus Graham, Mary Hill Graham Holt, John and Priscilla Prater. He is survived by two brothers, Wayne Prater and Fay Prater both of Waynesboro, TN; two sisters, Oda Mae Pevahouse of Clifton, TN, and Betty Frazier of Waynesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Jimmy Pearcy officiating. Burial will follow in the Prater's Chapel Cemetery, Clifton, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing. Pallbearers will be Mark Pevahouse, Matthew Ray, Daryl Prater, Keith Pope, Wesley Prater, Johathan Buie, Daniel Prater. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home.
