He was born in Chester County, Deanburg Community, the son of the late A. Virgil (Andrew) and Cordova Angeline Taylor Hopper. He attended school in Chester County and worked in the building of Chickasaw State Park (beginning) and later worked in the maintenance dept. He worked at Bemis Cotton Mill and later Murray Guard. He also worked as a painter in and around Henderson. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Lillie Young Patterson Hopper of Humboldt; two sons Danny Hopper and his wife Elizabeth of Henderson and Terry Hopper and his wife Sheri of Jackson; two grandsons, Michael Hopper and his wife Sharon, Ross Hopper, Tyler Hopper and Kehlie Hopper; two great grandchildren, Payton Rowland and Madison Hopper.
