Bobby Eugene Mabry, born on May 6, 1938, in Savannah, Tennessee, was the beloved son of the late Jack and Alene Austin Mabry.
He was united in marriage to Carol Ann Herron on June 11, 1959, after meeting her at church in California, where their love story began.
Mr. Mabry proudly served in the United States Navy for four years.
As a skilled machinist, he contributed significantly to the Apollo Lunar Program, working on the cone of the first spaceship that successfully landed on the moon in July 1969. After moving to Texas, he spent 27 years with Lenox Industries before transitioning to Bell Helicopter, from which he retired in 2000. In 2008, he and his family relocated back to Tennessee to be closer to loved ones.
Faith played a pivotal role in Mr. Mabry's life; he was baptized in the river at a young age by Bro. Lamar O. Ball. A steadfast believer, he was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and enjoyed services at the Savannah Church of Christ.
Mr. Mabry was a devoted provider for his family and had a passion for restoring antique cars, a shared interest that brought them great joy. He cherished family camping trips and beach vacations, creating lasting memories with his loved ones.
Bobby Eugene Mabry departed this life on March 25, 2025, at the age of 86. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Carol Ann Mabry of Adamsville, Tennessee; a daughter, Debbie Mabry of Adamsville, Tennessee; a sister, Ann Phillips and her husband Jim of Clarksville, Tennessee; two sisters-in-law, Linda Mabry and Wilda Mabry both of Savannah, Tennessee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kay Alene Mabry; two sisters, Mary Catherine Mabry and Jane Lowry; and two brothers, Teddy Jack and Buddy Mabry.
Mr. Mabry’s legacy of love, dedication, and faith will be cherished by all who knew him.
