Funeral services for Bobby Ray (Bob) Littlefield will be held on Monday, May 10 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville.
Mr. Littlefield passed away after an extended illness on Friday, May 7, 2010 in Selmer, TN. He was born in Adamsville, TN on June 1, 1921 to the late Henry E. and Maxie Pettigrew Littlefield. He was united in marriage to the former Madeline Phillips on September 24, 1949.
Mr. Littlefield was honorably discharged after serving 3 1/2 years in the United States Navy during World War II, where he served as an aviation machinist. His chosen career was as an educator, where he spent 31 years teaching Agriculture and Earth Science, as well as serving as FFA advisor, at ABL and Jamaica School Districts in Illinois. At retirement, he moved back "home" to Tennessee, where he lived the past 28 years.
He was an active member of the Stantonville First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Adamsville Masonic Lodge and the Adamsville Eastern Star. He was a former member of the American Legion, VFW, Lions Club, and Ruritan Club. He was always active in his church and the community as long as his health permitted. He served as an officer in every organization to which he belonged. He served in many positions in his church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Madeline (Phillips) Littlefield of Stantonville, TN; two sons, Larry Littlefield and wife Kathy of Gibson City, IL and Steve Littlefield and wife Rhonda of St. Joseph, IL; two daughters, Dianne Kincaid and husband Jeff of Newman, IL and Marcia Mullikin and husband James of Jackson, TN; eleven grandchildren: Rebecca Littlefield, David Littlefield, Stephanie Littlefield, Ashley Littlefield, Natalie Littlefield, Jennifer (Kincaid) Coslet and husband Duane, Amy Kincaid, Gregory Kincaid, Grant Kincaid, Cory Mullikin, and Claire Mullikin; and 1 great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Littlefield was preceded in death by a son, Richard Allen Littlefield; a sister, Betty (Littlefield) Blanton; and two brothers, Luther Lee Littlefield and Henry E. Littlefield Jr.
Serving as Pallbearers are his grandsons and nephews: Greg Kincaid, Grant Kincaid, David Littlefield, Cory Mullikin, David Blanton, and Paul Blanton. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Raines, Junior Kiddy, Larry Russell, Dean Glidewell, Owen Lee Qualls, Billy Ashe, Roger Seider, and Dr. Ryan Bartz.
