Bobby Joe Gober departed this life on February 21, 2016, at the age of 83 years, 9 months, 3 days. He was born in Burnsville, Mississippi on May 18, 1932, the son of the late Raney Curtis McAnally and William Noonan Gober. On January 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Christine Yarbrough, who preceded him in death on October 9, 2008.
Bobby Joe had previously lived in Chicago, Illinois. He was self-employed as a handyman working on cars, doing electrical work, and plumbing. He was a member of the Counce First United Pentecostal Church.
Bobby Joe was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and a devoted friend. He was an incredible storyteller that could make you feel as though you were living his adventures with him, and his sense of humor kept everyone laughing and is easily seen in his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Terry Gober of Acworth, Georgia, Stacey Yimet of Plainfield, Illinois, and Beverly Ann Feldkircher of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Tricia Ann Walter, Jason Gober, Nathan Gober, Aaron Gober, Jeremy Gober, Caitlin Yimet, Tom Yimet, Abbi Yimet, Matthew Yimet, Liam Yimet, and Brooke Feldkircher; great-grandchildren, Trinity Gober and Grant Gober; sisters, Bonnie Crocker of Pearl, Mississippi and Carolyn Gober of of Selmer, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, W.T. Gober; and sisters, Clara Tyson and Margie Jenkins.
Bobby Joe touched the lives of countless people and he will never be forgotten as he will live on in the hearts of those who love him.
