Bobby Jerone “Romeo” Davenport

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bobby “Romeo” Davenport, Sr, who left this world on October 15, 2023, in Waynesboro, TN. Bobby’s life was a testament to hard work, strong values, and unwavering love for his family, fishing and hunting. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Bobby was born on October 25, 1947, in Woodbury, TN and attended High School at Woodbury High School. Bobby dedicated over 30 years of his life to his work at TDS and contracting telephone work. His strong work ethic and determination served as an inspiration to those around him.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bobby truly appreciated the simple pleasures in life, whether it was working alongside his son on the farm or caring for his hound dogs, Bobby found solace intending to what mattered most to him. His dove fields thrived under his care, and he took pride in a pristine yard and a clean 4-wheeler. Bobby found happiness in helping others and always enjoyed visitors stopping by. He also cherished spending quality time with his grandkids. The bond they shared was undeniable as they explored together on 4 wheelers around Topsy and the buffalo created lasting memories that will forever be treasured.

Bobby’s legacy lives on through the love he shared with those closest to him. He is survived by his mother Eva (Hutchins) Davenport of Woodbury, TN; son, Bobby Jerone (Tammy) Davenport Jr; brothers, Mark Davenport (Becky), Roger Davenport (Sharon); sister Frances Davenport; grandchildren, Coltin (Catherine) Davenport of Grandview,TX, Cassie Davenport Kellough (Austin) of Decaturville, TN, Jessica Davenport of Ferguson, MO, and Levi Davenport of Ferguson, MO; great grandchildren, Sage Thomas Davenport, Wade Charles Davenport, BraeLeigh Grace Williams, McKenna Grey Autry, Lincoln Michael Eskew, Thomas Anthony Absolon, Jayla Aubrey Davenport; 5 nieces; and 3 nephews.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Judith Davenport and Father, Thomas Edward Davenport.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 11:00 am until 1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service officiated by Scott Eggleston at Topsy Church of Christ.

A Celebration of Life will follow at Mr. Davenport’s Home, location address is 1260 Topsy Store Road, Waynesboro, TN.

Pallbearers are Bobby Davenport Jr., Coltin Davenport, Chase Fraizer, Joey Butler and Justin Griggs.
