Saulsbury TN

Bobbie Jean Watkins, a beloved homemaker, passed away at her home in Saulsbury, Tennessee on December 25, 2023. She was 77 years old. Bobbie Jean's heart and dedication to her family left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her unwavering love and care will forever be cherished.

Bobbie Jean was born on January 29, 1946, in Hardeman County, Tennessee, one of nine children born to Rev. Teddy R. and Vadie Lou Rowland Lambert and a twin to Bobby Joe. Bobbie Jean learned the value of family bonds and developed a deep sense of compassion that would guide her throughout her life.

Early on, Bobbie Jean discovered a passion for being in nature and relished every moment spent outdoors. The tranquility of the garden brought her immense joy as she nurtured plants with tender care. In her younger years, she also indulged in the art of quilting alongside her mother. These moments of creativity bonded them together and allowed their imaginations to soar through vibrant fabrics.

Though Bobbie Jean's creative pursuits were delightful to her soul, nothing compared to the happiness she experienced when surrounded by her grandchildren. She was their beacon of love and support, always ready with open arms and wise advice. The memories they created together will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Bobbie Jean leaves behind a cherished legacy and a profound impact on her surviving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Glen Allen Watkins, Sr., whom she married on November 12, 1963, her children Tammy Renee Watkins & Glen Allen Watkins, Jr., and her siblings, Opal, Evelyn, Margie, Brenda, Bobby Joe and Russell.

Bobbie Jean is survived by Sheila Jean Mayes (Marc), of Saulsbury, who adored her as a daughter; Billy Joe Watkins (Michelle), of Saulsbury, who deeply admired her as a son; and Ted Lambert Jr. and James Freddy Lambert, of Saulsbury, her beloved brothers, and her grandchildren Amanda, Summer, Brent, Destiny, Tracy, Thomas, Tyler, Robert, Shelby, and Jeremy. Additionally, Bobbie Jean leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren and one eagerly awaiting arrival. Her memory lives on through these generations who will carry her love and warmth in their hearts.

Bobbie Jean's boundless love brought joy to all those around her. Her kind spirit and gentle nature touched the lives of many who were fortunate to be part of her world.
