Bob Colvig

Robert John “Bob” Colvig, age 87, the husband of Joy Joyner, passed away Saturday morning December 2, 2023, at Henderson Health and Rehabilitation in Henderson.

He was born in Lorain, Ohio, the son of the late James Harvey and Leona Catherine Raszkowski Colvig.  He graduated from Lorain High School in 1955.  He entered the United States Air Force in 1955 and served two years in the states and in England.  He made his home in California for ten years and then back to Ohio until 1996. 

In 1968 he entered the pipe fitter and plumbing trade and was a member of the Local 42 Pipe Fitters Union out of Norwalk, Ohio.  He worked in the plumbing and pipe fitting trade for thirty-five years.

He married Joy Joyner in 1996 and they made their home in Henderson.  He enjoyed traveling, riding motorcycles and bowling.  He attended First Baptist Church in Finger. 

He is survived by his wife Joy Dean Joyner, a son Robert John Colvig of Lorain, OH, four daughters Kimberly Ann Konik and husband Dan of New Albany, OH, Catherine Louise Gabel and husband Marty of Mason, OH, Crista Lyn Rigsby and husband Tony of Vermilion, OH, and Connie Ann Wells of Pinson, a stepson Rickie Gage of Altoona, PA, a stepdaughter Teresa Lynn Johnson of Henderson, 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, a grandchild Bobby Gage, and a great grandchild Brycen Rigsby. 

Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, December 8^th and Shackelford’s Casey Chapel with Bobby Bray officiating.  Burial will follow at Finger Cemetery.

The  family with receive friends at the Crook Avenue Chapel from 12 noon until service time of 2 pm on Friday.
